Develop a methodological framework for the determination of plastics in environmental and human samples.
Identify subjects and organisms at risk and evaluate their direct and indirect exposure in order to determine the possible transfer of plastics along the food chain to humans.
Evaluate the (eco)toxicological profile and health risks of plastic products with particular reference to biodegradable polymers in population groups and in vulnerable environmental matrices.
Check whether the use of biodegradable polymers represents a possible solution to pursue to reduce potential risks.
Promote public awareness on issues relating to human health and the environment, addressing political decision-makers, civil society and the scientific community.
